Problem Description:

When touch panel pc can not connect to WiFi(wifi can't connect), after preliminary investigation to determine the problem originates from a single board CPU, due to the motherboard work for a long time, CPU heat, CPU pad local temperature is relatively high, the CPU tin point with the PCB pad oxidation peeling phenomenon, resulting in poor contact between the CPU tin point and the PCB, CLK_PCIE signal is not stable, thus appearing WiFi! WiFi is not recognised and cannot connect to the Internet.

Solution:

If it is confirmed that WiFi cannot be connected because of the CPU problem of single board, and the problem originates from the oxidation stripping of the pads caused by the CPU working for a long time, which leads to unstable signal, you can try the following solutions:

1. Cooling treatment:

make sure the touch panel PC has good heat dissipation. You can use heat sinks, fans or improve the ventilation of the device to reduce the temperature when the CPU is working and prevent the pads from overheating and accelerating oxidation.

2. Re-welding:

If there are conditions, you can re-weld the CPU solder joints that have problems to deal with. This process requires professional equipment and technology, it is recommended to contact COMPT experienced maintenance personnel to operate.

3. Replace the motherboard or CPU:

If the soldering disc peeling off the problem is more serious, re-soldering can not solve the problem, you may need to replace the entire motherboard or CPU.

4. Use external WiFi module:

If it is inconvenient to repair the device for the time being, you can consider connecting an external WiFi module via USB to temporarily replace the built-in WiFi function.

5. Regular maintenance:

Clean the dust inside the device regularly, check whether the cooling system is working properly, and make sure the device is running in a good environment to avoid similar problems from happening again.
